Helping Hands of Princeton

Making a positive impact on local communities through outreach and support.

Mission

Helping Hands of Princeton is a non-profit organization founded by Arjun Kumar and registered in the state of New Jersey. Our mission is to make a positive impact on local communities through outreach and support. We aim to help with issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, and educational inequity in our community, with a special focus on children in underserved areas.

We organize grassroots initiatives like food drives, back-to-school drives, and drives for personal hygiene kits. We offer enrichment opportunities to children by organizing events like public speaking workshops and chess classes. We partner with local nonprofits, community organizations, and local businesses to further our initiatives. By building relationships through these different groups we hope to find a collective voice to bring about a positive impact in the community.

March 2022

Diaper Drive for Trenton Area Families

Did you know?

  • The cost of diapers has risen by 12 percent since the start of the pandemic
  • It costs around $80 a month or $ 1000 a year to provide diapers for one child!
  • One out of three families struggle to pay for diapers
  • Families in need cannot use food stamps on diapers
  • Lack of diapers affect the physical and emotional health of babies and their parents ability to work

There’s a severe need for diapers in the community during the pandemic and due to inflation driving up the cost of essential supplies. We organized a diaper drive this month to help HomeFront’s diaper challenge. With the generous support of Wegman’s Princeton and other donors, we were able to collect 1,718 diapers which were donated to local parents in need.
